Finnish metal is being exported to the world heavily by three powerful bands as Before The Dawn and Stam1na join SWALLOW THE SUN ’s Shining Over Europe campaign as Special Guests. The tour will kick off on April 14, 2025 in Antwerp, Belgium and ending in Hamburg, Germany on May 6.
Finnish Death Doom band SWALLOW THE SUN released their highly anticipated new album, „Shining“, in October 2024. Over two decades of despair, beauty and heartbreak have not only shaped but also fueled these Finnish torchbearers of melancholy. Founded in Jyväskylä in 2000, the quintet with 10+ million YouTube views and 50+ million Spotify plays has performed over 900 shows on four continents during its 25-year-long career.

Finnish melancholic metal band Before The Dawn maneuvered a brilliant comeback with their 2023 album Stormbringers. The lineup has a new lead singer Paavo Laapotti, while the band’s primus motor Tuomas Saukkonen took over the drums. The acclaimed comeback album was followed by the four-song Archaic Flame EP in the spring of 2024. The band has toured Finland and Europe extensively since its return.
Stam1na is one of the biggest metal bands in their home country and has previously achieved some fame abroad as well. The band has been around for over 27 years: they have collected seven Emma-awards, nine of the band’s albums have gone gold and five platinum. The band sells out venues all over Finland, while also headlining many festivals.
